Centenary Summer Camp

Almost 130 members and their families from 1st Harwell (St Matthews) Scout Group went to Brownsea Island on Saturday 11th August.
This day trip was part of the 10 day camp which saw members from all the five sections from 1st Harwell.
The Camp was at Buddens Farm campsite, near Wareham in Dorset.

Scouting Sunrise in Harwell

On Wednesday 1st August 2007, at the same time as Scouts all over the world renewed their promise to mark the start of the second centenary of Scouting, 1st Harwell Scout Group attended a special ceremony and breakfast at St Matthew’s Church in Harwell Village.

Thirty-six Dutch Scouts and their four Leaders arrived at Youlbury Scout Activity Centre on 23rd July as part of the 21st World Scout Jamboree experience.
The group, called Koolmezen, had signed up to the Home Hospitality scheme offered by the UK Scout Association which gives the Jamboree Units a chance to spend some time with British Scouts.

May Centenary Camp

All across the country as part of the national ‘Scouting 2007′ programme Scouts went camping over the weekend of 25th May.
In Harwell, we decided to do a whole group camp at on the Village Recreation Ground.
