scouts > Tuesday Scouts at Spring ‘Basics’ Camp
May 7th, 2010
12 scouts and 4 leaders are running a back to basics camp this weekend. They will be cooking on camp fires and making camp gadgets. As well as going on the 3g swing and the high ropes course!
Camps at Youlbury are always fun, and this one was no exception! Led by some of our young leaders, it was a weekend full of activities, games and challenges.
It started right from the first, night, where we cooked our first of many meals over a campfire. On the second day, the Ariel challenge had to be the highlight. It started by climbing up and tall climbing wall. You then had to make your way around an obstacle course, suspended in mid air. All this together created an adrenaline rush like no other! We also did a blind trail, where you had to find your way round a course blindfolded, through many bogs, ditches and holly bushes!
On the final evening we rounded things off with a huge campfire, with all the usual , songs, marshmallows and hot dogs! Altogether everyone involved had a great time that weekend and will remember all of it for a very long time.
Thanks must go especially to the leaders who organised the camp and who made the weekend so much fun.
